Iceboy Violet minulý rok ostro vystrelili z manchesterského queer undergroundu do sveta.

Jede nonstop půl hodiny a blije duši, nechápu."

Ďalšie za nás vypovedia svetové médiá:

“One of Manchester and the UK’s most cherished, Iceboy Violet blazes thru on a debut album of killer, dare-to-differ grime and reeling stream-of-consciousness rap with production and contributions from Space Afrika, Emily Glass, Jennifer Walton, Slikback, Nick Leon, Mun Sing, Blackhaine, Daemon, Orlandor, Exploited Body and aya/LOFT.

BIG RIYL aya, Arca, Blackhaine, Eartheater, Mykki Blanco.”

“A thrilling mixtape that both subverts and builds on the possibilities of rap music, featuring production by Space Afrika, Slikback and more.”

“The debut mixtape from Iceboy Violet twists metal, rap, grime, and noise into an emotional punch in the gut”

“If you spend enough time haunting Manchester’s queer underground, running across Iceboy Violet isn’t so much a possibility as it is an inevitability. The idiosyncratic MC and occasional producer has attracted plenty of buzz in the last few years collaborating with artists like Loraine James, aya and Blackhaine. On The Vanity Project, Iceboy Violet rhymes melodiously in soft-focus Yorkshire tones over stormy productions from their global web of friends and family.”

“Mad with outfield club producers from as far away as Miami, Helsinki, Sydney and Bristol, the result is a true rap anomaly, its gut-spill lyrics and throaty, Yorkshire accented vocals welded to a battery of heavy, heterodox beats.
Released on Manchester label 2 B Real and featuring appearences from Space Afrika, outsider MC Blackhaine and aya (under her LOFT alias), the tape is unmistakably rooted in the North West of England and its scattered musical community.”

“Manchester-based artist has channeled this loud, abrasive and experimental sound with the help of some of the most talented electronic musicians working today. It’s club music, electronic music, grime and hip-hop all in one, with an eclectic sound that is truly mesmeric from start to finish.”
𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚

“when you're making music the mainstream can't define or describe yet in a hinterland of rap, electronica, grime and noise, where is your place? That place is still undefinable and, as you'd expect from Violet's work to date, that's just how they want it.”

“release that recklessly hurdles through grime, funk carioca, bubbling, dancehall, and more. TAYHANA sutures the project in a slick rework of the title track, lending structure to chaos without losing the spirit of DJ GÄP’s project.”
