Výtvarník Rastislav Podhorský sa ťažiskovo venuje figuratívnej maľbe, kresbe, ale je aj príležitostný teoretik a kurátor. Jeho obrazy charakterizuje spojenie jednoduchosti s nesamozrejmosťou, zaujíma sa o intenzívne okamihy v nepatrných ľudských výjavoch a maliarsky usiluje o skĺbenie nevyspytateľného maliarskeho procesu a úplnosti výsledného obrazu. V roku 2021 získal doktorát na základe prakticko-teoretickej práce s názvom Protirečník: Rámce a latentné možnosti vizuálneho umenia. V rokoch 2017 – 2021 bol vedúcim Ateliéru maľby III. na VŠVU v Bratislave. V súčasnosti vedie Ateliér maliarstva Delta rovnako na VŠVU. Jeho tvorba je súčasťou mnohých zbierok vo svete. Žije a tvorí v Bratislave.

Rastislav Podhorský focuses on figurative painting and drawing, but he is also an occasional theorist and curator. His paintings are characterized by a combination of simplicity and ambiguity, he is interested in intense moments in tiny human scenes, and in his paintings, he strives to combine the inscrutable painting process and the completeness of the resulting image. In 2021, he obtained his doctorate based on a practical-theoretical thesis called Contrarian: Frameworks and Latent Possibilities of Visual Art. In 2017–2021, he was the head of the Painting Studio III. at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He is currently a head of the Delta Painting Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. His work is a part of many collections around the world. He lives and works in Bratislava.
