Lena Gallovič je fotografka a vizuálna umelkyňa. Magisterské štúdium absolvovala v Ateliéri súčasného obrazu na Fakulte umení v Košiciach. Odvtedy žila na rôznych miestach a tvorila ako pre svetové módne magazíny, tak pre rôzne výstavné priestory. Dlhodobým motívom jej voľnej umeleckej tvorby je priepustnosť medzi realitou, snom a vnútorným prežívaním, čo je prítomné aj na výstave In Natural Habitat: Mirroring of Dreams v Galérii Medium. V dvoch jej miestnostiach prepája samostatné fotografické obrazy s prostredím, vytvoreným špeciálne pre dané miesto, v ktorom sa premenlivosť, zrkadlenie a splývanie stávajú prirodzenou súčasťou skúsenosti. Environment vyrastá z rovnakých princípov ako Gallovičovej fotografie. Organické materiály, ktoré autorka nachádza v prírode po tom, ako už ukončili svoju prirodzenú existenciu (suché rastliny, kvety, zvieracie pozostatky, nájdené dreviny) a ktoré sú prenesené do galérie ako súčasť výstavy, sú pokračovaním jej obrazového sveta v priestore. Publiku tak umožňuje vystúpiť z plošnej vizuálnej skúsenosti do pohlcujúceho mikro-vesmíru obrazov, symbolov a asociácií, v ktorých odraze sa môže stratiť i nájsť každý, kto sa im plne odovzdá.

Lena Gallovič is a photographer and visual artist. She graduated from the Studio of Contemporary Picture at the Faculty of Arts in Košice. Since then, she has lived in various places and created work for both international fashion magazines and various exhibition spaces. A long-standing theme in her independent artistic practice is the permeability between reality, dreams, and inner experience, which is also evident in the exhibition In Natural Habitat: Mirroring of Dreams at the Medium Gallery. In two rooms of the gallery, she interweaves individual photographic images with an environment created specifically for that location, where transience, reflection, and blending become a natural part of the experience. The environment is rooted in the same principles as Gallovič’s photography. The organic materials that the artist finds in nature after they have completed their natural life cycle (dried plants, flowers, animal remains, pieces of wood she has found) — and which are brought into the gallery as part of the exhibition — serve as an extension of her visual world within the space. She thus enables the audience to step out of a two-dimensional visual experience into an immersive micro-universe of images, symbols, and associations, in whose reflection anyone who fully surrenders to them can both lose themselves and find themselves.
